What is the Mad Mountain Mud Run?
Our course is 3+ miles of fun, with a combination of running and obstacles geared toward racers of all abilities. You will get wet and muddy, so please make sure your bring a towel and some extra clothes. We update the course each year with new obstacles to keep things challenging and exciting. We will post the the new course map about 2 weeks prior to the event. Click the map below to see last year’s course.
Recommended for competitive runners who want to see if they can be the fastest individual through the course!
You will take off by yourself and be timed.

Changes & Waivers
If you need to make a last-minute change to your team (a runner’s name and/or sex), you will go to the “changes” table first. We need a signed hard copy of every participant’s waiver (parent signs if participant is under the age of 18). Click Liability Waiver to get your waiver & bring it already signed with you to the event to speed this first station up. Please tell the volunteer your team’s name for them to verify receipt of your team’s 4 waivers. ALSO, you will get your team’s number at this station.
ALL racers will receive a beverage ticket at the finish line when the captain turns in their timing chip. Those of you muddy runners who want your beverage to be a brew donated by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company or Naked Apple Hard Cider should make sure to have your identification with you. We will give you a wristband when you show us your identification AT THIS REGISTRATION STATION. Those under 21 or who would prefer to drink a soda instead – no problem. Your ticket is good for that as well!!
Proceed to our “numbers” station where we have plenty of markers. Our volunteers will show where your number should be written on your body!! All 4 teammates have the same number, and hopefully you remember it from Station 1. If not, you will have to turn around and go back to check again.
Chips & Costume Check
Only the team captain needs to go to this table & receive a chip. Only one member of the team needs to attach the chip to a shoe (often attached with shoe laces or zip ties), AND THIS TEAM MEMBER must make sure to touch the mat at the finish line! This chip must be turned in at the finish of the race – no chip/no team drink tickets!! Also, those of you adorning a great costume will be checked out and possibly photographed in this area to be entered in the costume contest…..what you going to wear?
Bag Check-in (CLOSES AT 5:00 PM….get your bags after race, even if hanging at the festival a while!)
Please put anything you aren’t wearing during the wet/muddy run in your bag & check it in. If teams want to share a bag to cut down on this process, please plan ahead & do so. At this point, you will be directed to the start line area. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE IN LINE NUMERICALLY BY START TIME. If you miss your time, that stinks!!
